The show, which centers on 4 high-school aged daughters of pastors who are fixated on drinking, drugs and fornication, is a perfect example of how many modern-day Christian pastors are more focused on wealth and fame, that they would even embrace Satanic rebellion. The preachers on the show somehow think this is helping to spread the Gospel. Reality television is often centered on controversy and drama.

The more outrageous and rebellious the cast are, the better the ratings and the closer they are to reaching the coveted second season, when the participants can really start earning significant money. So these girls, by the nature of the show, were going to be put into situations where they would hopefully fall into temptation, cause trouble and provide entertainment for the masses of viewers. A teenage girl, even a Christian one, is likely to end up getting into sinful behavior one the cameras are rolling and the producers are encouraging them to behave badly. In the prior article we questioned why any pastor would do this to his own daughter.

In listing the requirements for a pastor, the Apostle Paul is quite clear:.

This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?

The moment a pastor has no control over his children, he is not fit for the job. The Scriptures are quite clear. Children of a pastor are supposed to be obedient and take their father seriously. Being able to properly raise and discipline your children is a foundational example and proof that a pastor can handle taking care of a church. Given this clear Biblical list of requirements, we must again ask: why would these pastors put their daughters in this situation where they are clearly being encouraged to sin?

Growing Up a Preacher’s Daughter

And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Heavy liquor drinking, drug use, cursing, blasphemy, bikini car washes and disrespect are just a sample of what the new season offers. The show is marketing sinful rebellion as entertainment. Her dad, Jeff Cassidy, is a former heavy drinking, heavy drug using heavy metal musician who turned to the ministry after he lost his custom manufacturing job of more than 20 years.

Zac has since completed two stints in rehab, but a potential relapse always weighs heavy on the hearts of his dad and mother, Darleen Cassidy. Again, we go back to the Biblical requirements for a pastor. The issue of drug abuse among teens is a very serious one, and it is not easy for a parent to control the actions of a teen who has a strong desire to get involved in drugs.

However, the Bible is clear that for that Dad, it is not the time to take on the mantle of pastor. And certainly not the time to invite a Hollywood reality film crew into your home to force contrived behavior, encourage arguing and bickering and put your children in positions of sinful temptation. What good is coming from showing this on television? What biblical purpose does this display?

Is this conveying the good message the pastor wants others to see? Megan constantly expresses a desire to either wear revealing clothes or no clothes at all. And uses her free time to get drunk. What spirit is leading a show that would allow a young girl to get into these situations all for entertainment? In explaining his motivations for joining the show Pastor Cassidy adopts the same party line that has been repeated over and over again on heretical Christian reality television shows — people need to learn Christians are not perfect.

  6. In fact a pastor should not be a hypocrite at all. No one is calling on pastors to be perfect. But it is the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who is perfect, when He died on the cross, that provides forgiveness to those who believe in Him. They should not be dishonest hypocrites, but rather readily acknowledge their need for a Savior. The real hypocrisy is claiming to be trying to serve God while promoting all manner of sinful behavior on reality television.

Pastor Cassidy is embarrassing his daughter and his family on television by showing Megan in these sinful scenarios. Tori Elliott is a year-old wild child from New Orleans with a propensity for drinking and partying and an aversion to holding her tongue. Her hedonistic lifestyle hits a major roadblock however when she gets evicted from her apartment and is forced to move back in with mom and dad. The worst display by far in the trailer for the show is that of Tori, who is shown drinking shots and lifting her skirt to flash a crowd in the city of New Orleans.

The fact that a pastor would even allow this clip of his own daughter to be shown on television should be enough to disqualify him from the position But in the case of Pastor Kenny Elliot, her dad, he is given a TV contract with a chance for a big pay day. As stated in his bio, Elliot is the pastor of a Seventh-Day Adventist Church, a denomination which is not at all in line with Biblical Christianity.

The Seventh Day Adventists believe in a works-based Gospel, in which good actions are required to go to Heaven as opposed to Biblical Christianity which clearly teaches that a person is saved and forgiven for their sins by faith in Jesus Christ and that it is a free gift from God. White , on par with the Bible itself. This despite the fact that White is a proven false prophet , having incorrectly predicted the end of the world on more than one occasion, claims many unbiblical doctrines and embraces occult terminology and symbolism in her teachings.

Her is an image of her tombstone:. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. If a pastor is preaching false doctrine, nothing good spiritually can come from it.

And clearly, Elliot is in deep error to allow his own daughter to be exploited for a potential reality TV payoff. Tori mocked The Lord Jesus Christ once again while getting her tattoo. Especially coming from the oldest female on the show? Christian teenagers and young adults are not perfect. A Christian child can and will fall into sinful behavior, including, fornication, drinking, drugs, fighting and other very serious sins.

A Christian should feel convicted and guilty about their sin, at any age. How can a pastor condone this blasphemous display from his own child? The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. Once again, for a pastor to allow his daughter to be filmed provocatively, wearing a mini-skirt, making a mockery of the first sin in the Garden of Eden, is utter blasphemy. Jesus Christ said of children: But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Matthew It seems Pastor Coleman, by endorsing this type or promotion advertisement for his daughter to be in, is fully leading her into sin. Preachers Daughters uses every chance to mock Scripture. Notice there is no mention of the Gospe l , sin or being responsible before God in his words.

And he offers no apology for the exploitation of his daughter for monetary gain and fame. Is this how a Christian father should lead his daughter? That is where faith in The Lord and true belief come from. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by The Word of God.

The Preachers on this show use the same tough tactics any atheist parent could use.

    Foreword by Steven Furtick

And their results are predictably unsuccessful. Olivia Perry, who tried to be a responsible mother in Season 1, was not invited back to the show. The one girl who made every effort to shun hard partying and fornication in Season 1, was Olivia Perry. And it turns out that she was not invited back to the show for Season 2. We enjoyed our experience on the show and wish the other families the best! Lord willing, these families will start putting God over worldly fame. And there are all too many pastors and other church members lining up to be the next potential star — even if it means disgracing themselves and making a mockery of The Church.

Young people today face hundreds of times more temptation than earlier generations. And this calls for parents to be that much stronger in reading the Bible, praying and loving their children in the manner God commands. Shameful, and Pathetic. Wisdom Quote. Unfortunately this is mainstream Christianity. People who go to church one day a week and then live like the world every other day.
